Need nutritional / health advice about whey protein + creatine?

I am 15 and I do weight training every monday and thursday night for 1 hour at my local gym. I currently take 24g's of whey protein and 5g's of creatine before my sessions and 24g's of whey protein after. I do this for both sessions in the week and have been doing so for about a month.

Are there any health risks involving someone of my age taking sports supplements and should I be taking them?

Whey protein is safe and is already in many of the things you are probably eating daily. Did u know it's in Cheeze it crackers, candy bars, pop tarts and many other foods, including almost all dairy products like yogurt, milk, cheese etc. Baby food has whey protein, The protein in milk is 20% whey, so whey in its concentrated form should be perfectly fine at any age as long as you are not lactose intolerant. Next time you are at the store look at the label on some baby formula. Even that has whey protein in it. Start reading labels and you will see many foods that contain whey, and are safe at any age. Whey is a naturally occurring protein in dairy and it has a lot of health benefits even if you don't workout.

Hey dude, When I started doing weights I thoroughly researched into sports supplements and there is absolutely nothing wrong with them in the correct daily amounts. Also you are right to be doing weights no more than 2-3 times a week, gives your body a chance to grow, especially when you are quite young. Go to www.maximuscle.com for all the best advice. I've been using them for years now and I feel great. You sound like you should make progress. All the best. : )
Nothing wrong with sports supplements, but you should reduce whey protein to about 25-30 grams a day.
