Army Guys!! Need some professional advice about a ring?

I want to get my Army man a ring for a gift and I wanted to know the safest metal to get so if he wears it out on the field and his fingers get crushed he won't lose a finger.

I was thinking White Gold or Platinum but which is safer in the event of a accident?

Thanks for the help!Army Guys!! Need some professional advice about a ring?
to be honest most guys wont wear rings in the field because of that risk. my fiance is in the army and wont wear his to the range or anything. my friends that are deployed or have been say it is to risky because they can get caught on so much so they wear it on a chain under their shirt. depends on the unit as to if they can get away with that though. i would say white gold because it can be cut easy. my fiance's engagement ring i bought him is titanium and he cant wear it at all when it comes to the army so it's always on a chain or on me. Titanium. The problem with Gold and Platinum is that it bends.

So basically when he gets his fingers under or between something

heavy it might not crush but bend the ring which is not something

you might want when you already have some seriously fragged

up fingers. Titanium is extremely bent and dent resistant. In a

side effect it's also more scratch resistant. And frankly. If he got

his fingers between or under something that squashes titanium

his fingers are goners either way.
Tungsten is the hardest metal you can get. My husband's in law enforcement and he's actually had his fingers pinched...the ring saved his finger from being as badly bruised as the others. The only downfall to them is that you have to buy the correct size. The metal is so hard they can't size them like any other ring. But, it is the best!
When purchasing a ring for you GI, don't add the field into your equation. You will be hard pressed to see a ring in the field. Have fun shopping!
