We live in central NJ and there are no places for infants - 5 year-olds to play indoors. I am considering what I would need to know before getting to involved: I know things like Insurance, Rent and equipment. I would not have employees besides our immediate family to get started.
Everyone seems itnerested - but the big question is - if this is such a good idea - how come no one else is doing this?

Find out what customers would pay. They can play free at McDonalds and most daycare centers would have a playground.
Would it be a drop in daycare center so the parents can leave then come for the kids later? Then you would need to be fully staffed based on how many kids you could have and CPR training and first aid. Will you offer classes like tumbling? You will need a lawyer to write contracts for the parents with consent forms in case the child is injured or something you will be know if you should call 911 or them or whatever.
We had a bunch of indoor ball pit play areas for little kids to play by the hour and they did birthday groups and one store has a kid place free to keep toddlers while parents shop.
Make sure you give the kids back only to the person who brought them maybe matching armbands so non custodial parents don't steal them.
