Please don't just stop eating meat. Only a non-vegetarian would say that.
You need to educate yourself first. You can eat a plant based diet but you have to have an understanding of the nutrients in these foods in order to make the right choices. It is not simple and it takes discipline.
You might also look into the different types of vegetarianism there are. Some still eat fish, or dairy and others still just cut out red meats.
If you don't educate yourself you can easily end up gaining weight or becoming deficient in nutrients making you vulnerable to many diseases.
Vegetarianism is a healthy and commendable endeavor. Please don't go into it without the proper knowledge of how foods work together and with your body.
Here is a good resource to start with:http://vegetarian.lifetips.com/newslette鈥?/a>What do you think about vegeterian? Do you want to become a vegeterian? If so, what's your advice to start?
I made the transistion to being a vegetarian about 3 months ago. Don't try to do it all at once. Start by replacing a couple meals a week with vegetarian ones. My biggest problem when I started is I found people wanted to argue. I hate it! They ask why I'm a vegetarian and then try to say that one person can't make a difference. Be sure you are prepared for that. Do your research so you know how to respond to people when they talk about it. Go to peta.com and you can request a free vegetarian starter guide. Their stuff is pretty graphic though. But it does offer alot of info about animal rights and nutrition. Also try vegcooking.com for recipes. You can't just cut meat from your diet, you have to replace it. Be careful to be sure you get the protein you need, if not, it can lead to serious problems. These websites should help. Good LuckWhat do you think about vegeterian? Do you want to become a vegeterian? If so, what's your advice to start?
i feel all life is to be honoured....including plants. I am thankfull to everyy organism I consume in my need for nutrients. (aka, that makes me an equal opprotunity eater.)
I think there's a place for all of God's creatures... right here next to my mashed potatoes.
seriously, if you're going to go veggie, you can't just stop eating meat. YOu need to read up about combining proteins. There are 20 amino acids needed for healthy human life. 11 can be made by the body; the other 9 have to be consumed. So learn how to mix your proteins from non-meat sources to get at least those 9.
...and start eating vegetables.
animals were meant to be eaten. to me theres nothing wrong with eating pork or beef. unless you have health concerns. depends on how strict of a vegetarian you want to be. strict vegans wont even touch dairy products
nope, i like meat instead i boycott
like i boycott KFC for treating their chickens worst than roaches
stop eating meat
stop eating meat and start eating veggies
No way do i think of becoming a vegetarian!! I mean, I know that it's healthy for you, but you need protein from differernt products than beans. I mean, it was the cool thing to do in the hippy days, and now it's coming back. I hope this doesn't give any bad ideas to you. Go ahead and do it if you want to!!!!! ( Iam only saying this because i can't live without bacon!) :)
im a vego and have been for a while. im only 13 but i recon eating meat is wrong. Some vegos will eat fish and seafood but i dont think that is a true vego. i do eat milk and eggs but only freerange eggs and freerange milk. if you want to become a vego it is a really really good idea!! plz join the fight to stop the mass slaughtering!!! u might have 2 do some reserch on it though coz if you dont eat tofu and lentils you could die u also have to take vitimins - tablets every day so dont get a supprise if you have to take up to 8 tablets a day coz i have to take 9 - 3 in the morning, afternoon and nite. u could always just eat less meat tho!! plz consider becoming a vego tho!! byebye
I honestly don't think its particularly healthy. You need meat and the vitamins and minerals therein. Vitamin supplements help, but they don't contain EVERYTHING you need.
I happen to have a sister who's vegeterian. She started by first not eating meat, then she learned to make meatless dishes and add flavor to it. She is healthier and eats a lot more.
Its a choice, and you should do it for the right reasons. Talk to your doctor first. Make sure you maintain your intake of vitamins that you would have gotten from meat, especially iron.
